Students are encouraged to attend meetings with their parents. Parents who attend Program Support Group (PSG) Meetings in week 10 of this term do not need to also attend Parent Teacher Student Meetings.

Parent Engagement Platform

We have recieved lots of positive feedback regarding our new Parent Engagment Platform, e-newsletter and SZapp. The Parent Engagement Platform is a website that can be bookmarked on you computer or ipad for easy access to current or past school newsletters and other school information. The school app provides access to some school information and is a convenient way for parents to access weekly information, notify the school of a student absence or check reminders. Our old app Flexibuzz is no longer used by the school to communicate messages to parents.

In most cases face to face communication is encouraged. Staff will often phone parents in relation to your child being unwell, hurt or to inform you about a playground or classroom incident involving your child.

The school also uses the following to communication platforms.

Caremonkey- used by staff and parents to send and access information about excursions/incursions/school events that require parent permission.

Schoolzine Parent Engagement Platform- used by staff to communicate school information that may need to be accessed by parents. Eg newsletters, booking parent teacher student meetings, policy or uniform information, staff contacts, contact the school etc.

Schoolzine SZapp- used by staff to send messages/reminders. Accessed by parents to find calendar dates, newsletter, report a student absence etc.

Hard Copy Letter- used by the Principal to communicate important information pertaining to a particular class or school event.

Email- used by office staff to send link to newsletter or used teachers to organise meeting times or convey organsiational details.

Phone- used parents to report a student absence, make an enquiry and used by school staff to contact a parent.

If you are unsure of where or how to access school information please ask any of our staff members who will be more than willing to help.

School Uniform

Just a reminder to parents that students need to be wearing correct winter uniform. There have been a number of Year 5-6 students who have been reminded by staff that shorts are not part of winter uniform, expect for sport day. Parents thanks for you support with this.

2020 Foundation Enrolments

Foundation enrolments close on 31 May. Please remind family, friends and neighbours to hand in their enrolment forms by this date. It is great to see so many sibling of our current families attending our storytime sessions in our learning hub. Mrs Wilson is taking the next storytime for preschoolers on Tuesday 28 May. please contact Cate in the office 9555 7200 if your child will be attending.

Confirmation

Congratulations to our year 6 students along with other year 6 students from St Peter’s and St Paul’s who were confirmed at St Patrick’s Cathedral on Friday 24 May. Many thanks to Edward Dooley for organising this special celebration and to Father Brendan Hayes and our parish priest Father Raju Jacob our celebrants for the mass. Thanks also to parents and staff for supporting the confirmation program and preparing students to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
