3/4 News
In 3/4 JB we are learning about significant individuals of the Age of Exploration (circa 1400–1800) and closely examine the journey of one explorer, trader or navigator. They are developing their skills of historical inquiry; learning to pose research questions, locate and analyse information, communicate their findings to others, and reflect upon and evaluate what they have learned. We have been learning about our Earth - the continents, oceans, hemispheres, imaginary lines such as the equator and Tropics of Capricorn and Cancer. Today we started our investigation of Africa. We are each researching and creating a poster about an African country. We will create the continent itself with salt dough - looking at its typography, and we will even learn a little about African dancing and drumming.
Abbey, Year 3 - I am looking forward to learning about the countries in Africa and animals, people and languages because I like to learn about other countries.
Joash, Year 3 - My favourite thing is to write so finding out information about another country is exciting as I get to learn and write about it.
Seraphin, Year 3 - I am looking forward to researching about Kenya and learning all about it. So far I know that the black in the Kenyan flag represents its people, the red represents the blood shed when they fought for independence; green represents the land and white represents the peace.
